Physiotherapy in Paediatrics

A physiotherapist with a special interest in paediatrics can assess and treat a child from birth, through childhood and even up to adolescence for a wide variety of conditions. Some commonly treated conditions include gross motor developmental delays, neurodevelopmental problems, orthopedic conditions or injuries and metabolic or genetic conditions.

A physiotherapist uses their physiotherapeutic knowledge and special interest training to aid a child with symptoms ranging from musculoskeletal pain, joint instability or hypermobility, poor biomechanics and difficulties with balance, strength, co-ordination, agility and proprioception.
