ABOUT US

KOOPMAN AND DE KOCK PHYSIOTHERAPY

Koopman and De Kock Physiotherapy was established in 2025. Monique and Wessel, having worked together for over a decade, decided to expand their professional partnership by embarking on this new venture. Koopman and De Kock is part of the larger practice, Physiolife. With over 25 years of experience, Physiolife has continually evolved to meet the changing needs of its patients and the healthcare landscape

MONIQUE KOOPMAN

Monique is a dedicated physiotherapist specializing in pelvic and women’s health. With the majority of her career devoted to advancing this field, she continues to lead the urogynaecology physiotherapy clinic at Tygerberg Hospital. Beyond her clinical work, Monique is a passionate lecturer and mentor, guiding newly trained pelvic and women’s health physiotherapists to excel in this critical specialty.

She serves as the Deputy President of the South African Society of Physiotherapy and sits on the board of the Southern African Sexual Health Association. A committed health advocate, Monique completed a social justice fellowship with Embrace—a movement for mothers—where she continues to champion the rights of women during pregnancy, childbirth, and beyond.

Monique prides herself on being a lifelong learner, continuously seeking ways to grow and make a meaningful impact.

Trauma-informed care is a core principle practiced at the practice, ensuring that each patient receives compassionate, empathetic, and holistic care tailored to their individual needs and experiences
